2024 and 2025 CoC Program Funding
The HUD Continuum of Care Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for federal fiscal years 2024 and 2025 was released on July 31, 2024 (FR-6800-N-25). It outlines requirements for FY 2024 and FY 2025 federal fiscal year homeless assistance grants, administered by HUD in compliance with the HEARTH Act. This is the first time HUD has released a two-year NOFO for this funding source. Under this NOFO, CoCs are only required to submit one CoC application that will be applicable to both FY 2024 and FY 2025. HUD reserves the right to award available FY 2025 funds based on this NOFO competition. Depending upon Congressional Appropriations made available for FY 2025, HUD may reissue the NOFO and the CoC may accept new project applications in 2025, but this is not a certainty. Potential new project applicants are therefore encouraged to apply in 2024 or be prepared to wait until 2026 for new projects to be considered.
The Butte CoC Council approved its 2024 and 2025 local competition process and associated documents on August 19, 2024. The Project Application Competition and Consolidated Application Timeline linked below provides all dates in the process for 2024.
